Preface to this post: I am a huge geek/gamer what follows has nothing to do with my goth/club life and everything to do with my geeky self. This has defiantley been a double deuce week. Why? Well besides from my job drama... There where three gaming stores here in Boston that I frequented. 1. Hobby Bunker (Malden) 2. Danger Planet (Waltham) 3. Your Move Games (Somerville) Why is this bad? In April Danger Planet closed which sucked because they had a great Gamesworkshop supply and it was a great place to pick up Warhammer games. The GW stores have long left Massachusetts so we where running out of places to play/shop. This left me two shops. I love Hobby Bunker but there hours suck. I can only make it to them on Thursday when they are open past 5pm but they aren't open late enough for games also there stock is older. My real local games store was Your Move in Davis which I walk to at least every other day. The bad news there; they just got bought out by Pandemonium another local game store who I have real bad blood with. So I now find myself a gamer without a store which is awful. I grew up in a gaming store, I've gamed since I was 8, I used to work for Wizards of the Coast and now I don't have a home store. Sure I can online order my supplies which makes GW love me more (As if that where possible) and I can game on my regulation table at home but there is a special relation with a gamer and there local store. Losing your store to a buy out is like having your S.O. cheat on you. We had just convinced Your Move to host GW nights too which makes this a double bummer. Now I'm looking for a job and a gaming store. Poop. Current Mood:  disappointed |

Here Today, Gone on Sunday
Seems I haven't written anything here in a while, even though I check in on LJ everyday. Guess I haven't had much to say lately. But, things have been and continue to happen. I mostly keep them to myself though, mostly.
So, let's see...the last three weeks? I went to work everyday, did my thing and then went home. Dave and I have been trying to go out for a walk after work a couple times each week, but the weather has been so craptastic, I think we've only been out a half dozen times. We do enjoy sitting on the back steps and watching the bats every evening though.
I've settled in nicely at the house and have found enough of a routine that I'm actually able to relax when I'm home. I've been reading a lot. After Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I reread Pride and Prejudice, which took a little while, and then watched the movie. I'm currently rereading Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series; about half-way through book two.
When it's nice out, I try to get out in the yard; deadhead the flowers, weed the beds and clean up the patio. We manage to have at least one meal out on the patio each weekend. We do a lot of grilling. When we can't do that, I make something. I've been doing a lot of cooking and baking, which helps me feel useful around the house, beyond my usual cleaning up and doing laundry.
For the Fourth, we went to a couple three BBQs over the course of the weekend. Dave spent a lot of time in the basement. To his credit, he works down there most weekends, sacrificing time on the bike to move it along. Things have actually progressed far enough that we've been able to start considering the layout and more minor details like paint colors! But, there's more foundation work, priming, painting, framing, dry wall, floor painting and the drop ceiling to deal with before any of that becomes a reality.
So, other than working, reading, tending to the yard and working on and around the house, I get to trick_13's once a week for dinner and a movie and occasionally contemplate going out, but the expense, time in the car to and from, and being tired and/or hung-over the next day usually keeps me in. It seems I've become an old lady. A happy old lady, but an old lady nonetheless =/
Anyway, I'm off to San Francisco on Sunday for a trade show. It looks like, on paper anyway, that I might have enough time to myself to wander a bit on Sunday and Monday, and possibly go out Monday night to Death Guild. The only thing keeping me from checking it out, well two things, is that I'd be going out alone and that I have to work the show all day on Tuesday. Then again, I was hung-over and sleep deprived everyday I was in Vegas and Chicago, so what's one more week of working on the road while feeling like bunk, right? Eh, we'll see.
And now it's finally getting close to lunch-time. I should do some work before then. Have a great weekend all!

Holy high and low Batman. The day before HAVEN I'm riding high kicking @$$ at work. I go to HAVEN have a blast and rock the club. I drive back fighting morning rush hour and enjoy the view of the valley. Wednesday I chill and finish up the models I've been working on (I love my new Daemon Prince Mod). I go into work today and almost quit/get canned. I made a big change at my day job to help out my boss and try to improve my work situation and it looks like it's all blowing up in my face. They are playing fast and loose with my schedule changing hours and shifts as they see fit and making my life heck. The icing on the cake they owe me a promotion raise from over a month ago and a yearly raise from three months ago neither of which I have gotten yet. My boss and I basically had it out today and it didn't end well. I still have a job but for how much longer is unsure. I find myself looking for work yet agian. Le Sigh. DJing = Awesome Social Life = Awesome Day Job = CRAP! I'm looking for a day job if you have any leads let me know. Paladin Looking For Work willing to Tank/Heal/DPS whatever. It's All Coming Back Now.....
who says history doesnt repeat itself?....or rather attempt to. Can't say i know where this is headed but i can't deny im excited to find out....or at least get one last taste of what it used to be like. ugh...such a strange situation yet so much fun. anyways..... im working tonight, so if any of you fuckers are around come say hi and help me keep my sanity as i yell at drunk people and suffer from extreme boredom at times as well. life in new haven is really getting dull....i think its that time again when i make my move the fuck out of here. i guess im the type of person who can only stay in one place for a few years and then i have to jet. though i must say, new haven is on the top of my "shittiest places ive ever lived" list. the place is nice and all but the people....oh my dont even get me started. Clicky, pretentious, egotistical, pats on their own backs when they dont deserve it kind of morons. And ive reached my limit with the majority of these tools. but where to go next.....hmmmmmm. or should i go back to where i started??? or am i talking out of my ass because seriously im strapped for cash and things are so up in the air right now that moving might upset the balance of the force hahha. perhaps i should wait and see whats to come. dont mind me....im a lost cause right now.....well in the living situation anyways. |

New hair dye.
For the first time in nigh on a decade, Special Effects hair color does not suit my purposes. I know there are a few other good hair dyes out there. One has some kind of french name, for instance. What are they? Please note: I hate manic panic. It is awful. do not recommend it to me. If you like manic panic, and want to suggest something else please let me know so I know what your baseline for 'good dye' is. |

HAVEN Aftermath
So Haven was quite fun. I was supprised how many people show up early but it meant that I could start spinning before ten and really enjoy it. I want to thank everyone who came out it seems that I was well received. I enjoyed spinning for all of you and hope to come back to see you soon.
